Psalm 118:24 NKJV
This is
the day which the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.
While
shopping for our annual Labor Day dinner for our special friends from our
beloved church and family members, I was overwhelmed by the barrage of
Halloween decorations in the stores. It
was only September 1st.
Halloween was 61 days away!!
It reminded me of how we often live our
lives: on January 2nd we are planning Valentine’s Day; on February
15 we are bombarded with ideas for St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th. By May 1st Easter was lost in
Easter bunnies and baskets. The real
reason for Easter was just a blip on the electronic screen of our lives.
When
did we stop anticipating the Reason for the Season without planning the agenda
for the next holiday? What if we pondered
and prayed for guidance on how to represent our faith at Easter, Thanksgiving,
Christmas or a regular day?
May
we let our faith and His message shine through us in this HIS day!
